Telomere & Cellular Health Testing.
Telomeres are protective caps at the ends of our chromosomes that help maintain genetic stability as cells divide.
They are widely studied as markers of biological ageing and cellular resilience, and their length is influenced by a combination of genetics, lifestyle, metabolic health and environmental stressors.
As we age, and during periods of chronic stress, inflammation or oxidative load , telomeres naturally shorten. While this process cannot be reversed, research continues to explore how lifestyle and wellbeing factors may influence the rate of change over time.
At Well Nurse Clinic, telomere testing is offered as an informational and educational tool, helping clients better understand their biological ageing profile within a wider wellbeing and longevity focused framework.
It may support:
Clients receive a personalised laboratory health report following telomere testing, which is reviewed and explained as part of a nurse-led consultation.
Results are interpreted cautiously and always discussed within appropriate clinical context. Telomere testing does not diagnose disease and is not a predictive medical test
You will receive an appointment for a blood test and are required to complete a medical questionnaire.
A Telomere test is €600 and includes a comprehensive health report.

Early Telomere Importance
Oxidative Stress Markers
Oxidative stress reflects the balance between free radicals and antioxidant defences within the body. Sustained oxidative stress is associated with cellular wear and metabolic strain.
Testing may offer insight into overall oxidative load and inform supportive lifestyle and nutritional strategies. These markers are optional and are discussed as part of a nurse consultation. They are used to support education and informed decision-making within a wellbeing framework, rather than diagnosis or prediction.
Laboratory Testing & Availability
Telomere and related cellular health testing at Well Nurse Clinic is provided through specialist external laboratories that offer validated clinically recognised analysis.
Testing is offered following nurse consultation and is guided by individual goals and suitability. Results are reviewed and explained within a wellbeing-focused, non-diagnostic framework.
Is Telomere Testing Right for You?
This service may be of interest to individuals who:
A nurse consultation is required prior to testing to ensure suitability and to discuss options. Testing options and associated costs are discussed in advance during consultation.
Additional Cellular Health Markers (Optional)
To complement telomere testing, we currently offer access to additional laboratory markers that explore cellular energy and oxidative stress, including:
NAD⁺ Related Markers
NAD⁺ (Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide) is a co-enzyme involved in cellular energy metabolism, mitochondrial function and repair pathways. Levels may decline with age, illness, inflammation and sustained stress.
Laboratory testing of NAD⁺ related markers may help provide context when considering energy, recovery and metabolic resilience.
